Goodbye 2010, Hello 2011

Liz: I’m telling you, this is my year. I feel like the show’s going to be great and I’m very positive that I’m going to meet someone else.
Jack: Women your age are more likely to be mauled at the zoo than get married. –30 Rock

Happy New Year! The lovely Michelle did a great post about the year in review and I loved it so much I thought I would do my own. 2010 was an incredible year for me, and it definitely deserves a review.

This past year I…

Planned our wedding.

Had fantastic parties thrown in my honor, like my Hen Party and my Bridal Shower.

Went on my first trip to Tahoe with Match, and can’t wait to go again soon.

Survived Match working graveyard shifts and being like two ships passing in the night. I got really good at playing psp solo games and finding other ways to occupy my evenings alone, like making my own escort cards and working on our guestbook scrapbook.

Set the date and then reset the date of our wedding and survived the aftermath of that mess.

Celebrated with Match as he got accepted into the Law Enforcement Training Academy.

Got married to the most amazing, dedicated, incredible man of my dreams.

Turned 27, which used to sound so old to me. Now it doesn’t seem so bad, especially with 30 looming out there in front of me.

Moved to a new town, and survived the first few weeks of Match’s academy, which was basically like bootcamp hell.

In 2011 we will…

Have three weddings to attend: Token Gay Couple, Chandler & Monica, and Geeky and her Fireman.

Match’s Academy Graduation and the start of his law enforcement career. I will attempt to not develop ulcers from worrying.

Our long overdue honeymoon. At this point I think I’ll settle for a three day weekend here in California. Just as long as we get to spend some quality time together. Maybe we’ll go camping!

We’ll celebrate our one year anniversary. I’ll try not to pout that I’m no longer a blushing bride and don’t get to have fabulous parties thrown for me. Well, except my birthday. 😉

Hopefully I’ll be on my way to a new career.

Our lives have changed so much since last January, and I’m so excited to see what this next year holds!
