Phoebe: Ninety percent of a woman’s pheromones come out the top of her head! That’s why women are shorter, so that men will fall in love when they hug them! [Ross is staring at Phoebe] Oh, come on, Ross, you’re a scientist. –Friends
Like I said in a previous post, Valentine’s Day isn’t a huge deal for Match and I. We didn’t buy each other gifts, but we did use the holiday as an excuse to do nice things together. With Match’s new schedule, time has been precious, especially weekend day time. Match got home from his night shift and offered to take me to a Valentine’s breakfast. It was a nice little change from the typical Valentine’s dinner, and far less crowded. I cheated from the diet and splurged on waffles. They were so delicious! After breakfast we went home and Match slept for the rest of the day while I worked on a little homemade project for him. Continue reading And Then We Fell In Love…→
He proposed on a Valentine’s Day, although he didn’t do it face to face, he did it in one of the little Valentine bits in the paper. I think he had to pay for it by the word, because it just said “Lee love Dawn, marriage?” which you know, I like, because it’s not often you get to something that’s both romantic and thrifty. -Dawn, The Office
I can’t believe how fast January has gone by. It’s almost February, which means both Match’s birthday and Valentine’s Day are coming up. With Match still being out of work, any sort of gift giving event has become a sore subject. I want to do something nice for him, but I also don’t want him to feel guilty. We thought he’d have started his new job by now, but they’re really giving him the run around. Three weeks for a background check just to be a security guard/EMT? WTF?! Grrr….anyways… Continue reading Valentine’s Day is Coming Up→
Harper: Love is just a bunch of exaggerating and lies, all dolled up in pseudo-poetic language (uttered preferably while intoxicated) and all for the singular universal purpose of… uh, you know.
Trance: [laughing] Harper, you’re a born romantic!
Harper: [hesitantly] Sometimes there are flowers? –Andromeda
Just as I planned, our Valentine’s Day was very low key. Match and I shared a yummy dinner, exchanged cards, and watched the movie Juno. He did surprise me with a beautiful bouquet of red tulips, which I love! I love that they’re not roses, and they’re different than what 90% of guys out there buy. Continue reading A Very Mellow Valentine’s Day→
Before I start, I just wanna say that I have a cold, so if I sneeze in the middle of a song, it’s not on purpose. Oh, except the last verse of “Pepper people.” -Phoebe, Friends
Well I’m still home sick, but today I’m at least working. There’s just something about sitting around at home doing nothing that will drive a girl insane. I have a really hard time resting, but this flu has wiped me out. I’ve barely had the energy to get out of bed much less do anything else. My sweetie Match has been so great-he’s been feeling better and has been taking care of the house. He did everything from cooking dinner last night to cleaning up and doing the dishes. What a guy huh?
I’ll just be happy when I’m up and on my feet again. At least my job let’s me work at home, which is so nice. I guess that’s what’s nice about system admin careers is that ability to remote into our system and do what I need to do from the comfort of my couch. Think healthy thoughts for me so that I’m all better by Valentine’s Day!
