[Robin complains about Marshall’s depression after Lily leaves him.]
Robin: This has to stop! Ted, we just started dating. We agreed we don’t want to move too fast, and somehow, we have a baby. He can’t feed himself, he cries a lot, he keeps us up all night.
Barney: Have you tried breast feeding? Nailed it! -Friends
Piglet and I went to our first outing on Saturday, just the two of us. We went to a BBQ with some friends from church. It went pretty well, except Piglet started a growth spurt and wanted to nurse the.entire.time. I’m not one of those whip it out types (more power to you ladies that are) and I use a cover up, but with being outdoors, and the wind, it just wasn’t working that great. I ended up leaving early because I was tired, and I knew Piglet was hungry. I think he was also just overwhelmed by the noise, people, the smells, etc. I think it’ll get easier for both of us the more we go out.
Piglet is 5 weeks as of yesterday and starting to fit into 0-3mon clothes. I love that he can finally wear this onesie from his baby shower! 🙂
Tahoe Couple stopped by Sunday to meet Piglet. I didn’t peg Tahoe Guy to be a baby guy, but he seemed right at ease. Piglet passed out in his arms!
Only 10 days until Monica and Chandler move back to California! They’ve been in Scotland for the past year, and I’m so so so excited they’re coming back. She got a job at a Veterinarian just about an hour from our house. I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to have them closer.
We didn’t do a whole lot for Father’s Day this year. I made Match a slideshow with video clips and pictures of my pregnancy with Piglet, up through this month. We both got teary eyed watching it. Last night we went out for take out as a celebration of both Mother and Father’s Day, since Mother’s Day I was in the early stages of labor. Next year hopefully we’ll do more, but I think just spending time together as a family of 3 was enough for me.
Wow, are we really in the 3rd week of March already? Did anyone else feel like this month just fly right by?
The weather has been beautiful and sunny here. There was no real “Lion” weather to speak of in early March, it’s pretty much been Lambtastic around here. I have to say I love these days, where it’s nice enough to open all the windows and get the fresh air, but not so hot that I have to run around closing everything up and hiding from the sun. That’ll be May-September weather. So I’ll enjoy the fresh air and mild temps while we have them.
Sunday I taught my second to last Sunday school class for the foreseeable future. Just one more to go-if I don’t back out next month. I’m starting to get the 3rd trimester fatigue, and those kids wore me OUT! Having to bend down and help them glue their crafts, and searching under the table for lost pieces of paper was not easy. But I love their enthusiasm, and their funny stories.
My favorite? One little boy telling this big story about the leprechaun that helped him find his lost ring. He had me help write him a thank you card. I must confess I had to google how to spell leprechaun while I was writing it for him. Thank goodness for smartphones or else this “teacher” would have felt like a real fool.
I’ve been a busy bee working on getting the house ready for my shower, which is in T-minus 18 days! I have an awesome DIY project I’ve been making for Piglet’s room, that will double as decorations for the shower. I’ll hopefully have them done by next week and will share them with you.
I also managed to get my picture gallery up for the dining room. Some of the pictures are place holders, and will probably be rotated out for pictures of Piglet when he arrives. For now my first “baby” has a special spot on the wall. Yes I know it’s ridiculous that I have an 8×10 of my dog on my wall, but whatevs. Also please forgive the way the camera makes the canvas picture look. It was evening and the flash was bouncing off of it.
I love the way the picture gallery and the triptych break up the space. The room is really coming together!
Match has been working a lot of overtime, and I miss him! But the time away makes us appreciate each other more, and he’s always so excited to see me, and rub the belly when he gets home.
We had another awesome checkup yesterday, with our “little” guy weighing in at a whopping 3 pounds, 1 ounce at 29 weeks. He’s in the 55th percentile and doing great! Match and I are both nervous that he’s going to be a big baby at birth. So long as he’s healthy, that’s all that matters. But if he wants to be born at say, 7 pounds instead of 9, with a nice small head, mama would be ok with that. 😉
Officer Debbie: License and registration.
Kelso: Yeah, just give me a sec here. My wallet gets stuck ‘cause I’ve been workin’ out. My leg muscles are huge. Oh boy. By the way, I can bench about 220 so that’d be about – two of you little lady.
Officer Debbie: What’s your name?
Fez: Oh my name is Fez, but I have a girlfriend so you need to cool it little girl.
Officer Debbie: Yeah, I’ll try. Okay Mr. Kelso, I’m gonna issue you a citation. [gives Kelso a ticket] You were driving too fast speeding on one of your teen service trips.
Kelso: Wooh, a citation for bein’ too foxy in a school zone.
Officer Debbie: No. A citation for 64 dollars. Bench press that. -That 70’s Show
I got a ticket this past Saturday for not using a hands free device while driving. I guess being pregnant and cute don’t mean squat these days. 🙁 I also thought the officer would run my plates and see that my husband is a sheriff deputy, but apparently CHP doesn’t do that. So to any other law enforcement wives, it probably wouldn’t hurt to mention being married to a cop. Here I thought if I was just humble and honest he’d let me go with a warning…
WRONG! Not only is my ticket for a lot of cash, $166 to be exact, but it’s the SAME as if I were texting. I’m sorry, but texting while driving is so much worse! It wasn’t like I was dialing. I had the phone to my ear and my eyes on the road!
I felt a lot of guilt about the ticket because I don’t have my own official income. I do make some side money with online stuff, but it’s not consistent. Match says our money is shared, and I know that. But there’s a part of me that just feels so bad about wasted money. It could have been completely preventable if I’d have just waited to answer my phone.
Ironically the reason I don’t have a hands free is because my cell phone is older than dirt. I’ve been waiting to upgrade to a smart phone because I wanted to save us money. So again lesson learned, and I’m finally getting a smart phone AND a headset. I feel guilty about that too, but I’m sure it will come in handy, especially when Piglet gets here.
I may have cried big ugly alligator tears after the cop drove off. I was so worried that Match would be mad at me. He wasn’t mad, he just thought it was funny that I didn’t try to get out of the ticket or name drop. I told him I was too nervous and I was a little afraid I was going to pee my pants just from the anxiety of the situation. Not to mention a terrible case of pregnancy brain that didn’t allow me to think fast enough. Maybe I should have pleaded baby brain and claimed I forgot about the law!
In happier news, we’re heading to dinner tonight with Geeky and her hubby. It’s rare that we get the chance to double date; it’s usually just the two of us. I’m really looking forward to our guys getting to know each other better.
Geeky and I met up a couple of weekends ago to discuss baby shower ideas. I’m so excited that she’s throwing my shower in April, and it just can’t get here fast enough!
I got my hair cut-finally! It’s been long overdue, and I’m loving the new shorter locks. Here’s a before shot:
These are terrible before pics, but you get the idea. Wow, I can’t believe just how long my hair had grown!
Here’s the after shots:
Also, I got this t-shirt at a consignment maternity shop for $6 and it’s my absolute favorite! I wish I could wear it every day!
Today will either be the best or the worst day of my life. Holly gave AJ an ultimatum. He either proposes by New Year’s or they break up. Now, if she’s engaged, I’m gonna go crazy and I’m gonna start attacking people. If she’s not engaged, in all honesty, I may just burn this whole place to the ground out of happiness. -Michael
Rodger Bailey: Don’t be such a grumpy old Scrooge!
Ben Harper: For your information, Scrooge was very much the misunderstood hero of that book. Until the end where Dickens copped out and made him nice.
Rodger Bailey: You’re like this every year.
Ben Harper: I believe in tradition. -My Family
