[narrating the play, with Rose acting out Henny Penny’s actions] Once upon a time, on a beautiful spring day, Henny Penny was waking up from a nap under an oak tree, when an acorn fell from the tree and hit her on the head. [fake paper acorn hits Rose on the head] Funny, when I was a little girl in Sicily and they told this story, it was a safe that fell on her head. –The Golden Girls
This week Becca asked us what spring means and our vacation plans. I’m still stunned that it’s already March. I’m daydreaming of our spring trip we’re taking later this month up to Oregon. We originally planned the trip just to see my cousin’s concert at SOU. He’s a music major and incredibly talented. Roo is going to hear his/her first classical music live!
Now unexpectedly it looks like my parents might be getting time off work to join us. We haven’t seen them in 4 months and I’m so excited. I didn’t think we’d be able to see them at all during my pregnancy. We’re hoping to rent out a vacation home together for two nights. I can’t wait!
The last time we were up in that area was the summer before our wedding. It was such a blast! I know it won’t be as warm as in the summer, and there won’t be any fishing my chunky butt out of the pool with pool nets but I’m kind of relieved. I’m ready for spring but I’m not ready for the heat! I’m daydreaming of fresh crisp Oregon air, beautiful green parks and quality family time.
Booth: [baby cries] You hear that?
Brennan: Sounds like a cat…-Bones
This Friday Daydreamin’ we’re supposed to write about what we love. I love curling up like kittens with my hubby. Yesterday it was so nice out that we decided to nap on our deck.
We watched the clouds float by and talked about how we’re going to camp out in the backyard in the summer. Then Match pointed to the lawn and said, “Can’t you just picture Roo camped out here in a tent?” I can’t wait for family “camping” trips to the backyard. Roasting smores around our firepit. I love daydreaming and curling up with my hubby like kittens.
Zack: Have I ever told you that you are the best headmaster in Bayside, no make that California?
Mr. Belding: Zack, I am not a matador, so take the bull outside!
Jessie: What the little brownnoser is trying to say is may we hold a carnival on school grounds to raise money for this ski trip. –Saved By The Bell
I’m totally in the Christmas spirit. My house is all decked out for Christmas and our housewarming party this Saturday (pics to come soon!). Our tree is decorated, and there are even paper snowflakes on the windows. It had me thinking of Diamond Lake, a place I’d visit with my family when I was little.
We’d stay in a cabin, go sledding, and huddle around the fireplace after a long day of playing in the snow. We would go up with other families, or with our extended family, and we had such a blast. I wish I had digital pictures of our time there, but they are all in my mom’s well organized photos shoebox so I’m spared that embarrassment.
The last time I was there I’m sad to say it was with my ex, Unemployed Guy. The place was beautiful but his craptasticness abrasivesness definitely ruined the trip for me. At least I got some great pictures of the lake and the trees. I need to go back with Match and make new memories. I’m daydreaming of visiting Diamond Lake with Match, our future kids, and our parents. Now that would be an amazing trip.
Hilary: It’d a Bungee jump proposal
Phil: Oh please, whatever happened to getting down on one knee
Hilary: Daddy thats for old fogees
Phil: I got down on one knee
Geoffery: Sustained! –The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
We just got home from vacation yesterday and I’m wishing we were still in Oregon. I’ve been dying to show you guys the proposal spot where Match proposed. The only picture I had from that night was pitch black. So here is the spot. You can see why he picked it right? It’s incredible.
I made him re-enact the moment. I know, I’m so cheesy.
I wish we could live on the Oregon coast. If only there were some high paying Veterinary Technician Jobs that I could get, and Match could transfer his sheriff deputy job. I’m pretty sure Match and I would move in a heartbeat. But for now I’m content with visiting once or twice a year. I can’t wait until we can bring our kids here and show them where Daddy proposed.
[Haley walks in with a revealing nurse costume]
Claire: What the hell is that?
Haley: What? You told me to put on an old costume.
Claire: Not from when you were eight. Are you trying to get candy or Japanese business men? Change it. Go.-Modern Family
This week Becca asked us to post our favorite Halloween photo and describe it. It was 2008, and it was my first Halloween with Match. He was The White Rabbit and I was Alice. It was the last year I wore a slutty Halloween costume, and the first time I’d ever worn a couple’s costume. I couldn’t pick just one photo, so here are a few.
Match was fighting a losing battle with his rabbit hood falling over his face.
This is my absolute favorite picture of the night. I love that Match played along with me and wore that ridiculous hood all night.
We haven’t dressed up in a couple’s costume since, and I really miss it. Hopefully next year we will when we have a Halloween party at our house! There’s still hope that we can throw something together up in Oregon too. We’ll see what I can dig out of my parent’s attic. What are you doing for Halloween this year?
