Easter 2018

My parents came to visit for the weekend! It was a short and sweet visit filled with an Easter egg hunt at my brother’s house and dinner out with just us.

Piglet was so cute chasing for eggs! I love the pure excitement on his face.

My niece and nephew are so good about playing with him. They made sure to share their eggs too.

Happy Easter, happy spring! Bring on the nice weather!

Happy Birthday Easter Bunny!

Piglet had such a fun Easter, and Match and I had even more fun watching him. From the morning, when he sang happy birthday to the Easter Bunny while opening his gifts from his Gamma, to the adorable egg hunt that followed.

I am so excited that we finally have a decent sized yard again. Piglet had so much fun looking for his eggs. This video captured the cuteness perfectly. He tells himself “Good job” at the beginning, and then goes on to count the eggs, and talk about his buch-et. Oh how I love this child!

Happy birthday Easter bunny! Here’s hoping you all had a wonderful Easter as well.

Happy Easter!

Yesterday Piglet celebrated his first Easter. We spent the day with my stepbrother and extended step family that I’ve recently reconnected with. It felt really good to be around family for the holiday. Piglet had such a great time playing with his cousins! He also went on his very first Easter egg hunt, and even found an egg all by himself!

He wasn’t so sure about his cousin’s bunny hat. I think he was afraid I’d put it on him, like I did at the store.

Here’s Piglet’s bunny hat from the day before, at Old Navy. He was not too pleased.

Happy Easter to all!

Easter and the Carrot Cake

Maggie: I got you a present.
Sean: [looks in the bag] Two avocados?
Maggie: Yeah, well, I was tryin’ to come up with a peace offering, so I thought I’d bake you a cake or something only I don’t know how to cook or any of that sh!t, so I thought I’d go to the store and buy you a cake only they’re too expensive and I can’t go to my bakery because I told the guy that his cannolis tasted like cat piss. So I got the avocados, I think they’re ripe. –Rescue Me

Last night Match and I spent Easter dinner with the future in-laws. I made my first ever carrot cake for in honor of the bunny holiday. I was nervous because it was my first carrot cake, and also the first thing I’ve baked for the in-laws. Match’s dad is an amazing chef so I was worried he wouldn’t like it.
It turned out absolutely delicious; however my grandiose plans of making a beautifully decorated cake turned out…differently. Continue reading Easter and the Carrot Cake

Match and the Baby Ducks

Tommy: [petting a chick in his hand] Mr. Fuzzy Man, how you doin’? Aww… [The chick poos in his hand.] Ew! Oh, ew! Gross! IDIOT! STUPID LITTLE FUZZY YELLOW CREATURE! Ooh, look at me, I’m so cute, I’m a little chick who’s DISGUSTING! God, you’re so stupid, how are you not yet extinct?[The duck, hearing all the commotion, waddles into the kitchen and starts quacking.]Tommy: Quack quack, quack quack! What are you quacking about? DUMB DONALD DODO![Tommy looks up to see the gang in the doorway, staring at him in shock.]Chandler: Step away from the duck. –Friends

I’ve mentioned before that Match and I live near the University I went to that happens to have a gorgeous campus. It’s our favorite place to walk our Monkey dog, especially this time of year. Why do you ask? Because of these!!
