New Year’s Eve Plans

Who gets to determine when the old ends and the new begins? It’s not on the calendar, it’s not a birthday, it’s not a new year, it’s an event —big or small, something that changes us, ideally it gives us hope, a new way of living and looking at the world, letting go of old habits, old memories. What’s important is that we never stop believing we can have a new beginning, but it’s also important to remember amid all the crap are a few things really worth holding on to. -Meredith, Grey’s Anatomy

I’ve been looking forward to New Year’s Eve with Match pretty much since we first started dating. There’s just something about New Year’s eve that seems romantic to me. Ringing in the New Year with the one you love, kissing at midnight, all of that. I’ve had some pretty lame New Year’s in the past, and I was hoping this one would be different. Well we caught the nasty cold bug that’s going around, so both of us are feeling pretty lousy. Continue reading New Year’s Eve Plans

Feeling Like Me Again

I just want to start by saying thanks for all the kind comments from my last post. I’m definitely feeling much better. Daydreaming with Friends

Cheer up, Bart. Milhouse is still going to need a true friend, someone to tell him he’s great. Someone to rub lotion on him. Someone he can hurl whiskey bottles at when he’s feeling low. -Lisa, The Simpsons

Friday night Match and I got to hang out with Couple Wife and Couple Hubby. They just recently moved into their first home, and it is beyond drool worthy. Their house is a 2 story, 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home, and it’s gorgeous! CW has the exact same taste I do in furniture and I couldn’t help but be jealous of their beautiful home. Someday…someday that will be us.

People That Get Us

Let’s be honest. Sometimes there is nothing harder in life than being happy for somebody else. -Carrie, Sex and the City

I don’t know if anyone else has experienced this setback while in a relationship-your friends. When you have friends that aren’t happy in love, it is extremely hard to hang out, when you’re on cloud 9. I’ve been going through a rough patch with one of my good girlfriends, Reality Check. She’s been very unhappy in love, and it seems like there is constant drama surrounding her. It used to be ok-we’d go out, bitch about men, and I’d be in the same boat as her. Still even on those occasions, she’d be rude to new guys that would approach, and she’s always been the Miranda of my friends: fairly bitter and most of the time hates men. While I get that she’s unhappy, does that really prevent her from being happy for me? I couldn’t even tell her about Match wanting me to get my ring size, or how eager he is to get engaged. When I told her about it, she made a face and immediately started whining about her latest relationship disaster.
