I’m completely, completely in love with you. I even love the things about you that I hate…because you make me feel like I don’t have to be anyone other than who I am and, to me, that feels like family and that’s what I want us to be. I want us to be a family because that never ends. -Justin, Brothers & Sisters
Yesterday’s Thanksgiving dinner made me feel like I was once again a part of Match’s family. I received such a warm welcome from not only Match’s parents, but the entire clan (that’s what they call themselves, it’s five sisters, and they can be quite formidable). I instantly felt at home, and we settled in to a relaxing afternoon of wine, way too much food, and great company. Continue reading Feels Like Family→
Justin : I had a weird dream last night.
Rebecca : Yeah ?
Justin : Yeah that your mother and my sister were singing show tunes in tomato-red dresses.
Rebecca : That’s so bizarre,’cause I actually had the exact same one only in my dream, we found out we were orphans.
Justin : That’s a good dream. All right, tell me more.
Rebecca : Well, then we decided to sail off to thailand, and there were pirates.
Justin : I like pirates.
Rebecca : I know. Tell me yours.
Justin : Okay, mine. I’m a doctor and, you … you are an amazing photographer. And on sundays we go for walks on the beach or we can go hiking with our dog buster.
Rebecca : Does it have to be buster ?
Justin: Marry me. I’m serious.
Justin: That’s the dream I want. I want to be a doctor and I want to be a husband and I want to be a father and it’s all because of you, Rebecca.
Justin: God, you make everything feel possible. You make me possible. –Brothers & Sisters
Saturday Match and I had one of the best Saturdays we’ve had together in a long time. The weather was beautiful, sunny but cold and crisp, the perfect fall day. We decided to go for a hike at Jack London National Park, just a short drive from where we live. Not only was it a great excuse to spend some quality time together, but I figured hiking could be how to lose belly fat before the holidays. One can only hope right? We started out by touring through the Jack London museum, where we learned all kinds of things about the late writer. The life he led with his wife Charmian sounded so romantic! They traveled all over the world by boat, they designed and built their dream home together, and even though it burned down before they could move in, it must have been fun to do that together. They had a beautiful cottage where they held grand dinner parties and I couldn’t help but be envious. To live in a time where people dressed up and dinners were an event. And to live out in the countryside, with acres of land and nothing else but beautiful wilderness and quiet. Continue reading Hiking in Jack London Park→
You’ve done nothing but cause my family pain, so if your perfect little world has come crashing down around you because the truth has finally come out, you know what, join the damn club! -Sarah, Brothers & Sisters
These past two weeks I’ve been going through a rough time with some family drama. I won’t go into the details, but I will say the end result was a massive blow out argument with my stepmom that has ended with me no longer speaking to her or my father. For me, it’s not much of a loss, as I only really talked to them during the holidays. My father and I were never close, and my stepmom is possibly the most obnoxious person I have ever met. Still, this decision to cut them out of my life was not taken lightly, and involved quite a bit of emotional turmoil for me. I spent a few sleepless night with my stomach in knots, trying to figure out what to do.
Kitty: Picture yourself on a beautiful beach with a dolphin and a margarita…
Rob: What are you wearing?
Kitty: This is not that kind of massage.
Rob: Well, that’s disappointing.

Yesterday Match and I had Old Married Couple over for dinner and to hang at our new apartment. They were telling us about their upcoming trip to Cancun that they’re taking, to an all inclusive couples only resort. I’m pretty sure Match and I just starred at them drooling. How great would that be?? Continue reading Dreaming of a Beachside Vacation→
