Our Thanksgiving was spent at Resort at 7th Mountain in Bend, OR this year. It was incredible! Hands down one of my all time favorite Thanksgivings. We had friends decide to get a condo at the same resort as us, so we were able to spend Thanksgiving dinner with them and their kiddos.
The resort had so much to do! I didn’t realize how many activities there were until we arrived. There was mini golf, outdoor chess, the pool was open and heated, along with three hot tubs. There was ice skating, a bar/restaurant, and fire pits. There were hiking trails all over the property. We took a mini hike down to the frozen lake below our condo. We could see the view from our balcony.
And icing on the cake of this amazing trip? We woke up to SNOW! My favorite! There is nothing quite as magical as sitting in a hot tub and having snowflakes falling on your head.
Piglet was deliriously happy. We had such a fun day that he was exhausted by dinner, and had a mini meltdown at the restaurant. Luckily they had an amazing bartender who was the kid whisperer. He came over, and in 2 seconds flat had Piglet laughing. Crisis averted! The poor love was so tuckered out and begged us to take him to bed after dinner.
This morning we woke up to a blanket of snow dusting the resort. It was so beautiful! Piglet and I went for a morning coffee walk in the snow.
We took a final dip in the hot tub, before Piglet and I went ice skating! Poor Match was rocking a cold, and had to sit this one out. He was a big trooper on this trip despite being sick. He captured some photos of us skating around the rink. Piglet is getting better and better at this skating business.
After check-out, we met up with our mortgage brokers, oddly enough. They helped us get our home loan when we moved up to Oregon. We did all transactions over the phone and through email, so we never actually met. We’ve stayed in touch on Facebook, and I messaged them that we’d be in their neck of the woods. We met up for lunch, and it felt like having lunch with old friends! They were so sweet! I hope we get the chance to see them again soon.
