Date Night In and Girl Gab Sessions

Lauren: when you’ve disrespected someone so much, they arent going to be there for you.
Audrina: No, not at all.
Lauren: And at this point I have no intention of being there for her.
Audrina: Oh well, what can you do?
Lauren: All I know is thank you for getting out of my life because now I have a better roommate and a better apartment and I’m just in a better situation.
Audrina: Yea.
Lauren: Cheers, Frankie’s birthday.
Audrina: Let’s go have fun, who cares, it’s done and over with.
Lauren: It’s going to be a long night. –The Hills

Yesterday all day at work I was counting the hours until I could go home. I’d had a late night hanging out with Baker Chic the night before and I didn’t get much sleep (Match was all about the snuggles and I just couldn’t resist ok?). Match and I had originally planned on going out to eat for date night before he left for work, but as the day wore on I got more and more sleepy and sweatpants were calling my name. So we decided to do take out from our favorite Vietnamese place and have our date night in.

After dinner Geeky came over for a long overdue gab sess. I bought these scrumpious almond chocolate cookies from Trader Joe’s and we cracked open a bottle of Late Harvest Zin (courtesy of BT’s family). We hadn’t talked just the two of in what felt like forever, and we ended up staying up til 1 AM! The night before Baker Chic and I had watched He’s Just Not That Into You and had a gab sess as well. I love hanging out in big groups, but sometimes it’s really nice to have that one on one time with good friends.

When Geeky was over, she mentioned that she doesn’t like Drama Chick anymore. I high fived her because seriously I don’t get why people continue to hang out with that girl. She’s rude, bossy, and above all, she is completely disrespectful to our friend Couple Wife. Drama used to sleep with Couple Wife’s husband way back in the day, long before CW met him. While that’s awkward enough, Drama goes out of her way to MENTION it at every chance she gets, to Couple Wife! I just don’t understand how a woman can be so gross and disrespectful not only to herself but to her friend like that. What’s funny too is Geeky, Baker and I all agree that while CW is a total Alpha Female in some respects, she just can’t seem to tell Drama off and she continues to spend time with her. If it were me and an ex of Match’s were hanging out with me, constantly bringing up details of her past with my man, you can bet she’d be getting the business side of a knuckle sandwich and some choice words.

It was funny how the two gab sessions I had with Geeky and Baker were like convex mirrors. Both times we lamented on the dating game and how relieved that we’ve found good guys, and both times we also talked about how sometimes men can be so clueless. Geeky and I laughed about how both our men are so oblivious to the female attention they get all the time. They never seem to catch on that girls are hitting on them! 🙂 I love having girl nights like last night and Thursday. I’m going to have to get Baker Chic and Geeky over because I’m sure the three of us we’ll have lots to gab about.

When’s the last time you had a girl’s gab session with a close friend?

Sex and the City 2 and Geeky’s Birthday

Richard: So, you look great.
Monica: Right.
Richard: No you do. You… just…
Monica: What?
Richard: You’ve got panties stuck to your leg.
Monica: (removes them) That’s because I-I was just grabbing some things out of the dryer, and it’s static cling. Or maybe it’s just that God knew I’d be running into you and saw an opportunity.                                                                                                                                –Friends

Saturday was Geeky’s big birthday bash. I met up with Geeky, Firefighter Chic, and Stylist Girl and Geeky and Stylist’s place. GC let me borrow one of her dresses (she has hundreds and they are all so pretty!) and then Stylist helped me fix my hair. Geeky’s boyfriend, the only guy, was teasing Stylist for having a tackle box full of makeup to cover the acne of an entire freshman class. That guy is funny and also a great sport for being the only girl with a ton of women. We had some champagne and then Geeky’s bf took pictures of us before we headed out.

New Year’s Eve & Drama the Bitch

Max: Awww, this is the worst party ever.
Marge: Remember that New Year’s Eve party at Lenny’s? He didn’t even have a clock. –The Simpsons

New Year’s Eve this year was interesting. We started the night off by going to Match’s aunt’s house to celebrate with his parents, aunt and uncle and a few family friends. The food was delicious and the evening had a nice classy vibe. Everyone said their congratulations to us and it was so nice to receive such a warm welcome. My only complaint was that we dropped the ring off at the jeweler to be resized and he said it would take TWO WEEKS to get it back. I told the jeweler he should give out loaner rings to us newly engaged ladies because otherwise it’s just plain cruel. He laughed but I wasn’t joking.

Drama’s Breakup and Girl’s Night Out

Meredith: You should take something.
Cristina: Drugs are for babies.
Izzie: I hate Alex.
Cristina: And the non sequitur award goes to…
Izzie: I’m sorry, I hate Alex.
Meredith: I broke up with Derek.
Cristina: Burke wants to have a relationship.
Izzie: Boys are stupid.
Cristina: Yep.                                                                                                                    –Grey’s Anatomy

Drama Chick called me on Thursday afternoon bawling her eyes out. Turns out that B broke up with her, completely out of the blue. As much as I think they weren’t right for each other, it’s still super sad, and my heart broke for her. Continue reading Drama’s Breakup and Girl’s Night Out

Prom Night Do Over

Finn: You’re a lot hotter than my last prom date.
Meredith: Is that a compliment?
Finn: Maybe.
Meredith: It feels like a compliment.
Finn: Then it is.
Meredith: Well keep it up and you might get lucky.
Finn: Well, now how lucky are we talking about here? Are we talking kind of lucky or are we talking really, seriously lucky? –Grey’s Anatomy

Couple Wife’s Birthday/Prom Do Over Party was so amazing. We danced, we laughed, there was even an old school dance off. The only difference between high school and Saturday’s prom was that we were all a little older, and there were legal drinks there. Continue reading Prom Night Do Over
