Get Him to Notice You

Ha, I mean, look at me, I’m in love with a guy who won’t say he loves me back and here I am, in his kitchen, just hoping he comes home and notices me. -Callie, Grey’s Anatomy

Coast Sister sent me a link to this cute article from Glamour Magazine online. I thought I’d share with you all about how to get a guy to notice you. The author lists 8 ways to get a guy to notice you, sort of the opposite of How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days, it’s more like How to Find a Guy. Probably better advice than how to lose one. I think we all know how to do that. I personally think it’s more of an 8 ways to make a good impression on a date, because it’s all about once you’ve already met the man. Still, some good food for thought.

So here are the 8 ways:

1. Stop Playing Hard to Get- I hate games! And the funny thing is, so do guys. So don’t play em.

2. Be Attentive- Guys are attention whores, and it puffs their ego when we listen. Plus, it’s just plain polite. You want him to give you attention, so give it back in return. The author mentions putting away your cell phone, and I couldn’t agree more. Match still gets mad at me sometimes if I text while we’re on a date!

I Love You Woman

That’s why it’s always nice when someone takes the time to reach out and befriend you. -JD, Scrubs

Tuesday nights have become movie night for me and Brazil since Match has class that night, and her husband is off at college during the week. I love getting to spend that time together, even though I know when the baby comes we probably won’t get together quite as much. We went to see I Love You Man, and I thought it was hilarious. I really identified with Paul Rudd’s character Peter, because I have a hard time making new girl friends. I feel like if I approach a girl at the gym to hang out, she’ll think I’m hitting on her or something. While I do have a few great girlfriends, we don’t hang out as often as I would like. Having Coast Sister visit made me realize just how much I miss having a close friend to hang out with regularly. (more…)

SPT-Gift a Family Member
Prue: My sisters and I, we have special gifts.
Allison Michaels: Gifts? What kind of gifts?
Prue: Ones you can’t return. Let’s just say we come from an interesting kind of family tree. -Charmed

This month’s SPT challenge is all about giving non material gifts. Lelly tells us to “focus on the gift of service, the gift of a smile, the gift of a repurposed or gently used item, the gift of a kind word. you know, those gifts that would be

hard to wrap in a box with a pretty bow.”

This week we’re to give a gift to a family member. Now she may not be blood, l_9e8efa04d6c14bd498f43ac0d7c3e24ebut Coast Sister is definitely a part of my family.

I feel closer to her than ever, especially after our fun weekend together (I’m the one on the right, wearing a sweatshirt from her town, and she’s wearing an SF sweatshirt from mine, ha!).

l_0dd73b1c4fe9445180043a8969f09a5fI gave her the gift of my

hospitality, and of course my lovely futon. Ha! I gave the gift of my time, and the gift of my crazy California driving, as well as a view of the sights of my home. I also gave her the gift of Ghiradelli Square, where they pass out free chocolate, yum. Oh, and I’m standing straight up, and I come up to her ear, lol.

Even though I’m saying these are gifts I gave to her, I think her coming all the way out here to visit me was definitely a gift to me. Thank you for making the journey, and for being a part of my life!

Coast Sisters Reunited

Cristina: Why can’t you mind your own business, you know? What is your problem?
Meredith: You’re my sister. You’re my family. -Grey’s Anatomy

img_4517I can’t believe that it actually happened. Coast Sister got on a plane, and flew to my coast! Match and I decided to surprise her at the gate at the San Francisco airport. We were both so giddy that we started kind of jumping up and down and she yelled, Ahhhh!!! We must have looked ridiculous. I think both of us thought it would be a little bit awkward, just because we hadn’t seen each other in person since 2007, but it was as if I just saw her yesterday. The funny thing was, it was that comfortable for Match too. They both started joking around from the minute they met. (more…)

Saturday Afternoon Gab Session

I lack your feminine wiles. -Karin Berquist, X-Files

Today was one of my Virgo days where I got a million things done in a morning, all before 2 o’clock. I sat down and looked around and realized there was nothing left to do at the house. I texted Couple Wife since it’s been awhile since I’d seen the baby, and asked if she felt like a visit and an iced coffee. I headed over for a quick visit, and was greeted by not only Couple Wife but two of her girlfriends. Now I’ve mentioned it before, that I always feel a bit awkward around girls, especially at first. I think it was because I grew up with brothers, or maybe because I’m part tomboy, but I just don’t have that feminine gene, at least not ingrained in my head. I have to work at it, and sometimes it’s painfully obvious (like when I curl my hair and it looks like droopy macaroni). (more…)
