Belated Birthday Celebration

There comes a point in your life when you’re officially an adult. Suddenly, you’re old enough to vote, drink, and engage in other adult activities. Suddenly, people expect you to be repsonsible, serious… a grown up. We get taller, we get older. But do we ever really grow up? -Meredith, Grey’s Anatomy

In the craziness of these past few weeks, I haven’t blogged about my birthday! Gasp. Maybe it’s because turning 26 isn’t that special of a number for me. Or that it means I only have 4 more years till I’m 30. Or I’m just too darn busy! But anyways, my birthday celebration was spread out over about a week, and mellow, but fun. More

Match Meets Best Friend

Joey: These past couple of years, it’s been one big soap opera. I wouldn’t take it back. I wouldn’t… take any of it back, but… I’m glad that it’s over. ‘Cause I like the way things are now. My life being the cruel joke that it is, now that things are so nice… you’re leaving.
Dawson: Jo… if I thought for one second it was the right thing to do, I would stay, but it’s time to go. It’s time for me to get out of this room, and it’s time for you to discover who you are without us. This chapter’s over, Jo. I can feel it.                                                                    -Dawson’s Creek

Yesterday was the long awaited Beerfest, followed by a party at Old Married Couple’s house. It was an anticipated event for me for two reasons: 1. It’s a super fun festival where drink lots of beer and socialize with friends, and 2. Match was going to meet Best Friend for the first time. If you’re a new reader, read here for the whole Best Friend saga, and you’ll see why this was such a big deal for me. More

Bart: Dad can I have some wine? All the other kids are doing it! (Camera cuts to a French baby drinking from a bottle of wine)
Homer: Sorry son. You’re an American kid. You have to get your booze from an older creep hanging outside the liquor store. -The Simpsons

Friday night Match and I went over to Old Married Couple’s house a quiet dinner, that turned out to be one of the most fun times we’ve had with them. Between the four of us, we somehow managed to drink six and a half bottles of wine! More

Brazil and the House Offer

Ted: Okay, we HAVE to get Lily out of that apartment. Her roommate is a raccoon.
Robin: I’d offer her my place, but I have dogs and she’s allergic.
Ted: Dogs? I live with her ex-boyfriend. I think she’s more allergic to that.
Robin: What about your place, Barney? I know it’s surrounded in mystery, but it’s gotta have a couch.
Barney: The Fortress of Barnitude?? No way.
Robin: Oh come on. She’s desperate.
Barney: Mmm, normally a prerequisite for the women I bring home, but pass -How I Met Your Mother

Last night Match and I went to Brazil and her husband Chill Guy’s house for dinner. We brought our dog Monkey to introduce to their pit bull to see how well they’d get along. You see, this dinner was much more than dinner with friends. We were in negotiations to become roommates.

Old Friends Meet Match

In some ways we grow up. We have families, we get married, divorced, but for the most part, we still have the same problems that we did when we were fifteen. No matter how much we grow taller, grow older, we are still forever stumbling, forever wondering, forever young. -Meredith, Grey’s Anatomy

Friday night Match and I went to the city, and it was such a blast! We got to see my old friend Bambino, a friend from college that I’ve known for a little over 5 years. Just like I promised Match, they got along great. I loved Bambino’s place because it was one of those bar/restaurant’s that makes you feel like family. We sat at the bar and ate our food while Bambi mixed us drinks and chatted it up with us. Another couple came in and sat with us and we all started talking like old friends. I’m really going to miss that place! Bambino got Match pretty buzzed, which I’d warned him about. On the way home he was tickling me and giggling and telling me how much he needed the stress relief.
