Yurt Camping and Chicken Babies

Last weekend was epic. That is really the only way to describe it. The weather was absolutely beautiful, and the campsite was perfect. I am completely sold on yurt camping. Set up was so easy! We threw sheets on the beds and we were done! I love our pop up tent, but we have to do a lot more to get it ready, plus we have to clean it all when we leave. The yurt we just had to sweep the floor and drive away.

Piglet had so much fun that we didn’t even have bust out the games we brought. He happily entertained himself climbing all over the bunk beds in the yurt. We spent the two days we were there on the beach the majority of the time. We couldn’t have asked for better weather. No wind and beautiful sunny days. I didn’t want to leave!

On the drive home, Match and I decided it was finally time to get the chickens we’ve been promising Piglet. We got home, unpacked quickly and then headed to the feed store. Piglet was so, so excited. On the drive he picked names for the four baby chicks, and I have to say they rock. Dottie, Dizzy, HaiHai and Scamper. Readers, meet our new babies! We are so in love!

If I was to go camping, I think a yurt would be the way to go! haha! I’m not very outdoorsy, and tenting is just not my thing. A fancy yurt is more my style! 😉

Awwww congrats! Chickens are such good pets for kids. He’s going to learn so much by helping you care for them!
