Wedding Planning Tips to Make it Go Off Without a Hitch

Every bride and groom wants their special day to go off without a hitch. The only way to do this is by thoroughly planning the day. Taking your time to plan all of the most important elements of the day will ensure that the day goes off just as you pictured it, or close enough to it at least. There’s bound to be something small that goes awry on the day, after all, there’s so much to do and remember! However, that doesn’t mean you need to stress out about it. Simply going with the flow on your wedding day can mean you have a much nicer time with the people you love. Are you ready to plan your wedding? These wedding planning tips will make your big day go off without a hitch:

Think of Your Guests Before Anything Else

Before you even consider planning anything else, you need to think of your guests. Your guests are the most important part of your big day. You must ensure that the venue will be able to fit all of them comfortably. Not only that, you need room for all of your vendors too!

Help Plan for Out of Town Guests

If you want to make sure that out of town guests can make it, then help plan for them. You could hire transport for them, and give them detailed directions to where they need to go. You could even make sure that there are nice hotel rooms and things available for them in case they need to stay over. You might be able to get some great deals if you call around!

Make Some Purchases With Credit

You’ll probably need to loan some money to pay for your wedding, so make some large purchases with credit. Not only will you be protected for many of these purchases, you might also earn points that can be put towards a honeymoon. I did this for our wedding, and we earned a lot of cash rewards points.

Try to Get More Bang for Your Buck

When speaking to  vendors, try to get more bang for your buck before you agree on anything. See what extras they’re willing to throw in to secure you as a client! When I negotiated with my DJ, not only did  he agree to my terms, he complimented me on bargaining, stating that not many people are willing to bargain anymore. It is definitely worth asking.

Get Organised

You might feel a little bit like Monica from ‘Friends’, but getting organised is a really quick way to make sure your wedding goes off without a hitch. Use a folder to organise everything. You can even create an email address specifically for your wedding. This way, you’ll have everything important in one place.

Always Take Somebody Dress Shopping

Don’t try to go dress shopping alone, as it’s so easy to overwhelm yourself! Take at least one person you can trust. Just don’t consider taking your entire family, as conflicting views might confuse you. To make it easier, you can order some wedding outfits from trusted places like New York Bride & Groom of Raleigh.

Start Planning as Early on As Possible

The more time you have to plan and prepare, the better. Start planning as early on as possible to reduce stress. Pinterest is your best friend. I wish it had been around when I was planning my wedding.

Don’t Necessarily Stick to Tradition

You don’t have to stick to tradition if that isn’t your thing. You need to do what’s right for you as a couple. Tradition says you can’t see each other before the wedding, but having a few moments alone together away from all of the madness before it starts can be magical! Match and I didn’t see each other, but we did go a non-traditional route by having his sister marry us. I wouldn’t change a thing about that decision!

Be a Team

Make sure you’re a team throughout the whole planning process. Don’t turn into a bridezilla! My biggest regret was  not having bridesmaids to help me through the day. I did have wonderful friends who came through, but having a true wedding team would have been so nice.

Know You Can’t Please Everybody

You won’t be able to make everybody happy, so don’t fret. As long as your wedding is special to you!

Above all else, remember why you’re marrying your partner. Have a wonderful day!
