Things have been pretty crazy over here. Our house was in pieces for the past few days, as contractors fixed the siding on the house, in preparation for the exterior to be painted. The painting started today, and it is GORGEOUS! I can’t wait to do the reveal once it’s all completed. It’s like we’re dressing our entire house up for Piglet’s party. 😉
Working with contractors gave me anxiety. I hate when they tell you one date, but the project inevitably goes over into multiple days. I’m just relieved they are done so the painter can do his thing.
In great big happy news, today was Match’s last day at his old job. No more 30 minute commute through crazy traffic. No more bridge toll. No more unhappy Match, stuck at a job he was growing more and more frustrated with. Let’s just hope he likes the new city PD job!
He is taking some much needed time off, and will have the next NINE days off to spend with us. He’ll be here for my first true Mother’s Day with my living child, and he will be home for both Piglet’s actual birthday and the big party! I am so happy with how all of the scheduling worked out.
Piglet has been growing and changing so much these past few weeks. I feel like a switch went on, and his ability to comprehend what we are saying has increased tremendously. We had a really warm day last week, before all the contractor chaos, so we decided to have some outdoor fun. I think a kiddie pool is in our future this summer.
He also took his first real step today, but of course I didn’t have my camera handy. He took a step towards a big kid at the library, but then sat back down. He is so close to walking, but it looks like he might not do it until after he’s officially one.
Looking forward to next week and so much needed family bonding time! I’ve completed a lot of the DIY projects I wanted to do for the party already, so I’m hoping to spend a good amount of this week relaxing with my little family. I really need it too: I feel like I’ve been busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest. And Piglet’s not even walking yet! I can’t imagine how much more busy life about to get!
