This is my second to last monthly update for Piglet. After next month, I’ll start doing yearly updates. I cannot believe our little guy is almost ONE! Where did the time go?
Piglet’s big milestone this month is standing on his own, without holding onto anything. He is working on his balance, and I know those first real steps are just around the corner.
He has another tooth that just broke through his gums, which brings him up to a whopping 5 teeth! I’m still amazed that I’ve been able to keep up with nursing. He seems to be cutting way back on nursing during the day, but still wakes me up 1-2 times per night to nurse. I think we’ll try to wean sometime after his first birthday. I’m not going to rush it, but I am looking forward to the possibility of him sleeping through the entire night!
He babbles constantly, with some real words in the mix.He says mama, dada, dog, no, yeah, hi, ball, and night night. Night night is one of his favorites lately, as he’s been a sleepy guy. With all that moving around when he’s awake, it’s no wonder! He can climb our stairs really fast, and he crawls at lightning speeds all around the house. He cruises along on everything he can pull up on too!
He has also started crawling into our laps for cuddle time. It is one of my favorite new developments, and I love that he’s so affectionate. I’m cherishing these moments, because I know it won’t be long before he’s too cool to give mama hugs. Books are still one of his favorite things, and he loves being read to. He also loves to point at the words, and babbles along and “reads” to us. He also “sings” along with the ABCs.
I’m enjoying each new stage, and watching his emerging personality develop. He can be downright stubborn, but also incredibly sweet and loving. He is fiercely independent, and wants to do everything by himself. I definitely see glimpses of that Taurus sign! I always thought I’d be sad that he’s growing up so fast, but as each new stage occurs, I tell Match, “This is my favorite stage!” It’s all going by so fast, and we are doing our best to soak up every minute of it. We love you sweet Piglet, and we can’t wait to see what you’ll do next!
