8 Month Bumpdate

Bailey: I’m pregnant, you blind moron.
Chief: You’re what?
Bailey: My heart rate is 110, I’m burning three thousand calories a day, my legs are swollen, I got indigestion and gas. Did you know carrying a boy in your uterus means you burn ten percent more calories than if you had a girl? Guess what I’m carrying. I tried for seven damn years and a month before my fellowship notifications the stick turns blue. Men… from the very beginning they just suck the life right out of you. I’m not leaving. I’m pregnant. -Grey’s Anatomy

I’m 8 months pregnant!! Match told me the other day that some people might say the 2nd trimester is the “honeymoon” trimester, but for me, he thinks it’s the 3rd. He says, and I agree, that it’s because Piglet reached viability, a weight was lifted off our shoulders. He said I started glowing, and I’ve been less cranky.

Not to say the 8th month is all sunshine and rainbows. I’ve developed pregnancy carpal tunnel, where my hands randomly go numb, especially at night. When I walk for very long, my feet swell. When I stand up, I have to pee. Even if I’m standing up from the toilet after having just gone. I’m also still experiencing dizzy spells, and I try to limit my driving just to be on the safe side. I huff and puff just walking around the block with Monkey. But those minor discomforts are nothing to the joy I feel when I watch my stomach ripple from Piglet’s kicks and punches. Or when Match cradles the bump and blows raspberries on my stomach, causing Piglet to flip and dance. Match and I both agree that while we’re so excited to meet our little guy, we will miss these moments. So we’re enjoying the wonders of pregnancy in these final weeks.

I’m so thrilled for you. The last month seems to drag, I know, but you really are almost there. 🙂

    Yay for waddling! 🙂
My cousin had her baby this morning at 3:45am- a boy! Exciting stuff!

It really is interesting when they get hiccups. Both mine did. Side note–babies get hiccups after birth too.

8 months! Woo hoo!! Getting so much closer to baby time!!!

My sister-in-law had the carpal tunnel problem big-time when she was pregnant with Neve. She ended up borrowing my mom’s wrist splints and they brought her relief – Mom gets them at the pharmacy, in case it’s something you want to look into! Enjoy every moment of this special “honeymoon” phase 🙂

love. love. love. this… reading these posts are always a joy.

    8 months already? home stretch!!!

you and match sound absolutely adorable. you’re going to be such awesomely loving and doting parents.

OMG, this kind of made me tear up a bit… all happy tears. I’m SO happy to see you reach this point where you’re finally comfortable, EMBRACING, and LOVING everything about your pregnancy and upcoming arrival of your little piglet. SO much love to you and Match and can’t wait to meet him here, too 🙂 XOXO

I’m sure your waddle is cute! The wrist thing sucks. I had it too.

Yay! I can’t believe you have only one more month to go, and I can’t wait to read your blogs as a new mommy and to learn the little guys name.
