Taking the grandkids caroling

Guest post written by Maya Higgins

When my kids were younger, we used to always take them caroling around the neighborhood a week or so before Christmas. Well, my grandkids heard me talking about that last year when they were staying with me for Christmas and they insisted on me taking them caroling this year. I’m going to fulfill that promise and have been getting them to practice with me a little bit when they’re over at my house.

They’re only 5 and 7, so they’re young and cute enough to pull it off, even if they don’t know all of the words. But they’re serious about this, so I’ve been printing off lyrics for them to study. While I was doing that last week, I ran across some info on miracle ear hearing aids and decided to go and get a hearing test and get fitted for them.

The kids caroling is going really well so far and I think that everyoneÕs going to love it when they come around caroling in my neighborhood. Who doesnÕt love some cute kids singing carols?

HA! Glad to see that I’m not the ONLY Grandma that reads your Date Girl blog. I felt like such a geezer – I didn’t brag about it. Apparently, Date Girl has admirers from all age categories & walks of life.
