Talk to Us Tuesday-Inspection Day

[After he and Mitchell pop a lock on a window of Mitchell & Cameron’s house, of which they are locked out] If you show enough houses you learn all the tricks. Every Realtor is just a ninja in a blazer. The average burglar breaks in and leaves clues everywhere, but not me…I’m completely clueless. -Phil, Modern Family

Saturday we had our home inspection. I was so so nervous about it, but it went great! We just have minor things to fix, but no deal breakers. I took the opportunity to take our first picture at the house together. I’m such a cheese ball.

My in-laws came out with us and it was nice to have their opinion and extra sets of ears while we went over everything with the inspector.

Now we wait…and that has to be the hardest part. I’ve been filling up my free time trying to make extra money online, because even though the fixes we’ll need to do are minor, they are adding up in a hurry. I also want to put our own stamp on the place, including painting, refacing the kitchen cabinets, and redoing the floorboards. I’m sure once we move I’ll find even more little projects to be done.

In other news, JennyKate gave me something awesome for my fridge, a postcard from Forks, WA! I would love to make a trip up there someday.

Instead at the end of the month we’ll be heading to the Oregon coast, which is a lot like Forks. It’s rainy, very green, and very beautiful. It will be the perfect distraction while we count down the days til November 14th and the close of escrow! Too bad there won’t be any sparkly vampires. 😉

You WILL have a spare room for me, right?

WOW! Congrats on the clean bill of health for your house! :o) That is really great that there wasn’t anything major to be done! (I’m a little jealous!!) Now I guess you get to pack and plan and do all the fun stuff! Hit the clearance sections at Target and Kohl’s. They normally have great home decor stuff for very little $$!
