Geeky came up to visit and we had a great little girl’s night out. Sadly I didn’t take one picture! I couldn’t believe it either. But we were so caught up chit chatting that we never got around to busting out the camera. We started off the night with dinner at a Cuban restaurant a few towns away from where I live. It’s also the East Bay’s hot spot for clubs and bars. We ate delicious food and had a couple of mojitos. Then we randomly found a place that had happy hour all night every night. $5 cocktails at 9pm? Yes please! They also served hummus and other greek appetizers for free. I can’t wait to go back to that little gem of a restaurant..
We attempted to go to a few dance clubs after we’d eaten our fill but unfortunately every place was charging cover charges. Really guys? This isn’t SF. It just seemed stupid to pay $10 to dance. One place was charging $5 and their bar was completely empty except for couple of creepy guys wearing funny t shirts. I couldn’t believe they had the nerve to charge. So we just headed home and curled up on the couch chatting some more. We talked about her upcoming wedding in September and all of the fun stuff planned for this summer.
In the morning Match helped me cook breakfast and the three of us visited over coffee. It was a really mellow weekend but exactly what I wanted. I really love hanging out with Geeky and it was so awesome of her to make the effort to come visit. We made plans for another sleepover next month, this time at her house.
After Geeky left Match and I settled in for a lazy Sunday of video game playing, eating food, and walking the pup. He admitted that he would really like to move back to the North Bay once our lease is up in September, and that he wouldn’t mind commuting for work until he can find a law enforcement job up North. We both have enjoyed spending time here, but ultimately we don’t want to raise a family or buy a house here. It’s very urban, and the air quality in our town is terrible. I also think there are better school systems and a lower crime rate back home. Not to mention Match’s parents live there and once we have kids it will be nice having them close by.
I think seeing Geeky and the night before seeing Couple Friends made us realize how much we miss our friends too. We have made a few friends here, but none as great as the ones we already had. So we’ll see what September brings. It will mark our one year anniversary and maybe the beginning of some new changes once again. As long as I’m with Match, I’m game for anything!
