Post It Note Tuesday-Mailbox Stalking

When you’re single and your friends start to get married, every wedding invitation presents a strange moment of self-evaluation. Will you be bringing a guest or will you be attending alone? What it’s really asking is where do you see yourself in three months? Sitting next to your girlfriend or hitting on a bridesmaid? I always checked that I was bringing a guest. I was an optimist. -Ted, How I Met Your Mother

    1. I JUST watched that HIMYM on Sunday morning.

    2. I feel like it’s one of those things where you have to invite certain people because you invited other people and it can get out of hand, but it’s still polite, but you still hope they don’t say yes! My brother is going through the same thing.

Only 44 DAYS!! OMG!! It’s getting so close 🙂 So excited for you! And hopefully you will receive a bunch of RSVP’s here soon and I totally understand about the budget.

Oh and I love the quote by the way!

Ah, yes. The days of the RSVP waiting game. You could always work around the direct, uncomfortable call by asking those who know the non-responders. If it was a cousin who didn’t respond, I’d ask my aunt or uncle if they knew if they were coming. I only had to reach out to a few people directly by playing the “circle the guest” game.

You are not alone on the “I hope they say no” thing either. Our reception location held 150. We had invited 175. I NEEDED people to say no. And I do believe we had a head count of 149. 🙂

Whatever you do, do NOT go Bridezilla. Your wedding is just that – your wedding. Whatever happens, happens. Plan and control what you can, and pretend that anything else that comes up (crazy tornado in the middle of the ceremony, downpour during the kiss, your dress tears or gets stained) were all things meant to happen. 🙂 Because they are. It’s just the way life goes.

Just remember to love every minute of it. I LOVE the fact that my dress has a stain on it, right in the middle, front. It means I was unconcerned and having a great time at the reception. And I was. Your day will be perfect!

Thanks for stopping by – I’m blog hopping from here! Happy Wednesday.

Ugh. This reminds me of when we told my MIL she could invite 20 people (we were having a super small wedding) and she invited 20 couples. We almost had heart failure.
