By the by, this moment is so great, I’d cheat on that other moment from before, marry this one, and raise a family of tiny, little moments.-Dr. Cox, Scrubs
I have to apologize to you my blogging friends. I know my blog hasn’t been all that upbeat lately. I think injuring my wrist really put me in a bad mood. Not only was I still bored at work, but I was in pain and I couldn’t even blog about it because it hurt to type. It’s been a week now and I’m starting to feel a lot better. Along with less pain, I also received an abundance of good news that really turned my week around. Match’s schedule is changing and he’ll be getting Sundays and Mondays off instead of Weds/Thursdays which means we actually get to share one day off together! 🙂 It’ll make taking vacations a lot easier too.
The other news is that despite getting injured and giving me crap for it at work, my boss gave me a RAISE! WOOHOO! I felt a big wash of guilt because here I was bitching and moaning about my job, and they go and give me a raise. It’s still not my dream job, but it definitely makes me feel good to know that I am appreciated. I’m also going to start studying for a few certifications which will finally give me something to do. I just hated feeling so unproductive all the time. My boss also wanted to know all about the physical therapy I’ve received for my wrists and sheepishly admitted that she has wrist pain too and wants to learn the exercises for herself. It felt good to know that she not only believes me about the pain, but sympathizes.
Friday night was fairly low key. Plans with The Reverend to meet up again for drinks got canceled, and Chandler ended up texting that people were over at his place having drinks. It was a nice night, but a little bit boring. I ended up staying up super late so I could sleep in with Match on Saturday. He loves it when I do that because we actually get time to snuggle in bed together. Dinner Saturday night was the highlight of my week. Match took me out to celebrate my raise and we tried out a new sushi restaurant that just opened in town. It was delicious and not too expensive for the amount of food we got. We’re both huge sushi fans and it’s been way too long since the last time we had any. Over dinner Match said that one thing he’s learned through this challenging work schedule is how much we have to appreciate the little moments we have together. We have to be thankful for what we have and what we don’t have to worry about. We don’t have to worry about getting instant life insurance quotes right now because we’re still young. We don’t have kids yet so when we do have free time, we have the luxury of going out to nice new sushi restaurants. Most importantly, we have each other. He couldn’t be more right. I love that even though he’s not that happy with his career, he still comes home with a smile on his face and a big kiss for me. When we do see each other, we laugh and we have great talks. He compliments me every single day, and every day I am reminded of just why I’m marrying him. What do you appreciate?
