Wedding Expo with the Future MIL
Rachel: What happened at dinner?
Monica: My parents spent the money for our wedding.
Phoebe: My god, what did you order? -Friends

Yesterday Match’s mom and I went to this big wedding expo, where we were able to do cake and wine tastings, talk to different representatives for wedding venues, wedding dress stores, tux rentals, and caterers. Basically a huge Wedding Fair. Needless to say I was in heaven! (more…)

Waiting For My Calling

That was the year I got left at the altar, it was the year I got knocked out by a crazed bartender, the year I got fired, the year I got beat up by a goat, a girl goat at that, and damn it if it wasn’t the best year of my life. Because if any one of those things hadn’t happened, I never would’ve ended up in what turned out to be the best job I ever had. But more importantly, I wouldn’t have met your mother. Because as you know, she was in that class. Of course, that story is just beginning. -Ted, How I Met Your Mother

This week at work has been the slowest it’s been in months. I wish I could say it was nice, but it makes the day just drag by. Match has been feeling it too since he’s just doing his unpaid internship and waiting for his new job to give him a start date. They’re taking forever and it’s driving us both nuts. Match really wants us to move North, maybe to Oregon or even Washington, but there just aren’t any jobs there. I love our little duplex and I’m happy in the town we’re in, but I am definitely ready for a change of career. (more…)

Breaking Out Like a Teenager

“I HAVE DONE NOTHING TO BE FORGIVEN FOR! I was a fantastic wife! When he was sick, I nursed him. When we were low on money, I stayed within a budget. I cooked his meals. I mended his clothes. For the love of god, I used to check his back for acne. And that miserable son of a bitch has the nerve to understand and forgive me? Well, the joke’s on him, because I do not understand, and I do not forgive.” -Bree, Desperate Housewives

I’m taking my New Year’s resolution seriously and I’ve been hitting the gym with a new found motivation. Maybe it’s how good I feel after I work out, or more likely it’s this pretty shiny thing on my left hand. Match did an imitation of me running with my hand outstretched and a ridiculous smile on my face that was sadly pretty much dead on!

So what has my reward been from all of this extra fitness and taking care of myself? Bacne. That’s right folk-my body has decided to reward me with lovely zits all over my chest and back. WHY?! It’s just cruel. I’m hoping it will level out once my body gets used to the new routine and I don’t have to resort to going on acne pills in my later twenties. I can only hope that it’s just a phase. Otherwise I’m going to have to start shopping for a dress like this:

Anyone else out there experiencing this issue when they started up a workout routine? Any advice?

Wedding Venues and Setting a Date

I hate the bride thing. I hate the pictures in the magazines of the girl with the veil…and the flowers that she’s sniffing. Like it never occurred to her to put her nose in there until there was a camera pointed at her. I hate the idea of bridesmaids…and the colors…and does the bustle make my ass look bigger or smaller. I hate the whole thing and I never wanted to be that girl. That girl is stupid… and shallow. So why the hell is that girl’s thoughts running through my head? -Izzie, Grey’s Anatomy

Hello my blogging buddies. There hasn’t been a whole lot going on for me except wedding planning. I just want to apologize ahead of time for how much I’m talking about the wedding, but honestly, that’s the only thing we talk about at home too! I never thought I would be that girl, and I apologize! Work has been extremely slow so I’ve been filling my time with browsing the endless wedding sites online. This past weekend Match finally got into the act and went venue hunting with me. (more…)

PJs, Sleepover and Pizza Night

J.D. I don’t want to do this! Can’t we just go home and put our PJ’s on and watch Grey’s Anatomy? -Elliot, Scrubs

New Year’s Day was our Christmas with Match’s parents. It was the first time the four of us had a chance to celebrate our engagement. I happened to luck out big time with the present I got Match’s mom too. I created one of those Mix Books and made a scrapbook for Match’s mom full of family pictures I’d taken over the past year. I started with my first Christmas with the family and ended it with Thanksgiving. I had no idea at the time that I would be a part of the family until after I’d made the album. After we got engaged I had time to open up the book and write a little message to Match’s mom on the inside cover. Here’s what it said: (more…)
