What do you mean I didn’t get the job? …Budget problems? But I was volunteering! -Carlton, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
It was so hard coming back to work this morning. Having four days off was so nice. I got a lot done, and I was also able to just put my feet up and relax. It doesn’t help that I still don’t like working at this IT inbound call center where I sit around and wait for the phone to ring. It does have its good points, like being able to blog. But I can’t wait to be a part of something more.
I signed up today for a volunteer opportunity with the Boys and Girls Club. It should be a lot of fun, and a good way to gain some field experience for teaching. I sent my application in at the beginning of the month, so I should be hearing back from my college any day now. From there, I’ll have to make the big decision: do I keep working as long as possible while going to school, or do I quit? It’s a scary idea, especially in this economic climate. So we’ll see-I’ve just decided to cross that bridge when I get to it. For now, I just hope I get in!








of Match’s family. I received such a warm welcome from not only Match’s parents, but the entire clan (that’s what they call themselves, it’s five sisters, and they can be quite formidable). I instantly felt at home, and we settled in to a relaxing afternoon of wine, way too much food, and great company. 
Saturday Match and I had one of the best Saturdays we’ve had together in a long time. The weather was beautiful, sunny but cold and crisp, the perfect fall day.
