A Year Ago Today

The two of you have something most people search their whole lives for and never find. -Barney, How I Met Your Mother

It was a year and four days ago that I got a message in my inbox that would change my life forever. It was a year ago that I went on my first “official date” with Match. It was a year ago that we shared our first kiss on that garden path downtown. It was a year ago today that I fell completely and utterly in love with Match, that I felt a way I never had before, and I knew nothing would ever be the same.

In some ways I’m amazed that it’s already been a year, and in others I can’t believe it’s just one year. Just as he said when we first met, it feels like we’ve known each other forever.  We have been living together practically from the first month we started dating. We are a part of each other’s families, and both feel comfortable around them as if they were our own. We share mutual friends, and we are business partners in a little company that’s actually doing pretty well. We’ve been shopping for houses, which is just surreal to me, and almost every day he tries to psych me out by getting on one knee, saying my full name, and then instead of proposing, he ties his shoe, or just bursts out laughing. He says he’s doing it to throw me off, the butthead! Still the fact that he’s joking around about it is something.

Speaking of our company, last night Match did one of our cleaning jobs for us, so that we wouldn’t be stuck wearing disposable gloves and cleaning toilets for our anniversary tonight. ;-) Somehow even if that’s what we ended up doing, I think we’d make it romantic, ha. Luckily he got that out of the way, and instead we are going to the sushi restaurant we went just a few weeks into our courtship. It’s the same place that we went and sipped sake out of these crazy square cups, laughing because we looked like kittens with spilled milk. I can’t wait to go back and make some new memories. Here’s to the first of hopefully many anniversaries to come. img_3349

Came this way via Welcome to the Jungle to search for your 10 things post and this was the first thing I saw. Can I just give you a big freaking “awwww”?

Seriously, a good portion of this could have been written by me. I met my BF on Match.com just over a year ago and things are going awesome. Whenever I hear people saying how Match.com never works I want to raise my hand and wave it around like crazy. Sometimes it actually works.

Ths is so cool, because I remember when you first started dating him congrats! Have fun tonight.

:D bless you! Hope you had a lovely day the pair of you xx

I remember the call from you after you exchanged emails….You were pretty darn hopeful and excited even then. Then after meeting him I was like WHOA-Hold your horses girlfriend. haha! It was instantaneous the attraction and the sparks. It’s awesome that things have been working out, and progressing the way that they have. I’m so happy for the both of you. I wish you both continued happiness.

How super fantastic is this post?? Congrats. Thanks for kicking my day off with some warm and fuzziness.

…still working on my 10 things list…still on #1. LOL.

Talk soon, JOSIE.

Happy Anniversary. Hope you had a lovely day!
