Skinny Bitch Broke Me

Trish: All right. Start with a hundred push-ups!
Marshall: All right, cool. How many do you want me to do?
Trish: A hundred.
Marshall: Oh, I thought that was a figure of speech. A hundred push-ups. Like do a bazillion push-ups. No one can do a hundred.
Trish: (sniffing) Do you smell that?
Marshall: No.
Trish: Smells like there’s a little bitch in my gym. Are you being a little bitch in my gym?
Marshall: No.
Trish: Then get on the floor and give me a hundred! -How I Met Your Mother

Tonight, true to her word, Gym Buddy texted me about going to one of the classes at our gym. I gladly agreed, and we headed to the night class, called 24 Lift. I warned GB that this class was rough, since she’d never taken it. I had taken a few classes and they were always tough, but this one straight up wrecked me. I should have known better when the perky instructor got to the front of the class and grinned at us and said, “Ok, so are you guys ready to work?” with this little gleem in her eye, of a person who loves to torture those around her.

I lack your feminine wiles. -Karin Berquist, X-Files

Today was one of my Virgo days where I got a million things done in a morning, all before 2 o’clock. I sat down and looked around and realized there was nothing left to do at the house. I texted Couple Wife since it’s been awhile since I’d seen the baby, and asked if she felt like a visit and an iced coffee. I headed over for a quick visit, and was greeted by not only Couple Wife but two of her girlfriends. Now I’ve mentioned it before, that I always feel a bit awkward around girls, especially at first. I think it was because I grew up with brothers, or maybe because I’m part tomboy, but I just don’t have that feminine gene, at least not ingrained in my head. I have to work at it, and sometimes it’s painfully obvious (like when I curl my hair and it looks like droopy macaroni). More

Busybody Neighbor

Bonnie: Who was that?
Roseanne: That was my lovely neighbor.
Bonnie: Oh, the ice pop lady, eh?
Roseanne: Mm-hm, frozen solid with a great big old stick up her butt. -Rosanne

I think I’ve mentioned before just how much I love our new apartment. It’s been three months now, and we’re getting all settled in, getting those last few pictures hung, and everything is where I want it. There is one drawback of the new place however, and that is the busybody neighbors. I’ve noticed the neighbors always seem to want to know everyone’s business, but they’ve been friendly overall and haven’t bothered me. That is, until last night. More

Masters Curriculum

Harry Senate: The assignment was the read the book. Did anybody read the book?
[Silence.]
Harry Senate: Jamal, what do you want to be when you grow up?
Jamal: Not a teacher.
Harry Senate: You know, as a teacher, it would be inappropriate for me to tell you that you’re a total screw-up. So what I want you to do is go home and ask your father, as a favor to me, to tell you that you’re a total screw-up. I bet you can’t wait to get out into the real world because you’re all going to be rich. Companies are going to pay you a ton of money to sit there like lumps and do nothing all day. I want all my books back. Just leave them right here on my desk on your way out because, well, unlike a mind, a book is a terrible thing to waste. -Boston Public

Lately Match’s schedule has been more and more crazy. He’s got work Monday through Friday, then his internship, and also night class two days a week. Now he’s talking about volunteering for search and rescue, to bump up his resume and gain more experience.

I’ve always thought of myself as an overachiever, but next to Match I look downright lazy! I started looking into MS Curriculum to see about getting my masters degree.

When I was a little girl, I used to want to be a teacher. Getting an online degree would definitely be the right approach for me. Key components of this program include focus on the integration of technology in education, something I have a lot of experience with.
The courses are accredited, and would prepare me for continuing as a masters teacher. Earning my Curriculum and Instruction graduate degree online would definitely be the best option for me with my busy, hectic schedule.

Still, I’m pretty sure I’ll stay where I’m at, in the technology field, at least for now. I think it’s great that there are options for online learning though, and I may explore that career later on in life.

The Gym Makes Me Out of Shape

Miranda : 35 and they’re dying! We should just give up now.
Carrie : Well, on the bright side this could explain why they don’t call back.
Charlotte : How did he…
Miranda : Heart attack. At the gym.
Carrie : See? This is why I don’t work out.       -Sex and the City

If there were a theme for this week it would be exhausted. I’m so incredibly tired all of the time. Sometimes I wonder if I should sign up for social security disability and then I remember, oh, yeah, I’m 25, not elderly, and not disabled. So why am I so tired? Well aside from work actually being incredibly busy and mentally draining, I’ve been hitting the gym with gusto. More
