But, if it makes you feel any better, it’s also because you’re very white.                                                      –Scrubs
I just want to start by saying thanks for all the kind comments from my last post. I’m definitely feeling much better. In fact, on Wednesday night, after I wrote that post, Match and I had a great night and everything felt right. It’s almost like the minute I identified that I wasn’t acting like myself, I snapped out of it. The bad feeling disappeared and I remembered how lucky I am.
Match and I went for a run around the lake again, this time picking up the pace a little bit. It was crazy because it’s been getting dark so early and we ended up running back to the car early because it was so dark. Luckily there was a full moon and we had that to guide us back. I would have been scared if I didn’t have Match right there with me. I feel so safe when he’s next to me, and I know nothing bad will happen to me.
That night when we got home we decided we didn’t feel like cooking, so we grabbed take out from our favorite Mexican restaurant and curled up on the couch with our favorite show House Hunters. I love shouting at the TV to pick my choice of the three houses. It seems like the people on that show always pick the ugliest, most expensive of the three choices though. My favorite house that night had these gorgeous bamboo shades on all the windows, granite countertops, and huge bedrooms. Of course the house hunters instead went with the ugly outdated house that had a bad kitchen, hideous window treatments and small rooms. Go figure!
It’s fun to watch that show with Match because both of us have such similar taste in decor and what we want in a house. I can’t wait until we can finally buy our first place.
After we ate we decided we wanted to do something other than rot away watching TV all night. We broke out a deck of cards and played an old fashioned game of Gin Rummy. I haven’t played in years, and I was terrible. Match beat me twice, but I got him back once!
As we snuggled up to go to bed that night, I told Match how happy I am. He kissed my forehead and said, “Good, now don’t forget it!”
